Review: About Wuthering Heights

If you're currently taking or plan to add AP English in 12th grade next year, this is one of the few books you have to read in the class.

The Setting to this Gothic novel tells a story of a man named Mr. Lockwood who started to live in a new area in Northern England. Slowly, He became intrigued with the people living in there and realized their true personality; with the various accounts he listened from the residents. If you read the Twilight series before, then the plot may sound familiar to you; Stephenie Meyers had taken her stories inspired by this book.

Personally for me, it's a heavy read, but once you reached Chapter 10, things become a lot more interesting. The whole story is a bit morbid once you get ahead with those "A-ha!" moments till realizing true intent. There's also a lot of narration twists willing to confuse the reader; that's part of the whole thing. It will confuse readers in a good way. In some account, it's a love story, but only a tale.

Overall, if you're into a dark story with twists, people that are terrible and rotten and enjoy reading such accounts, this book may be for you.

  1. I am reading this book right now for AP English 12. Even though it's super long, the book is great! There is suspense, hidden themes, and character twists, making the book a good read. You have to get used to the language, but once you do, it's a breeze. Thanks for posting this!
